We’ve all been there: when you tried your ‘fit on, you were deeply in love with the heels adorning your feet.
And yet, at some point through the course of your night out, those heels decided to stage a coup.
Slowly, the straps started to dig in, your toes began to pinch, and before you knew it, your dancing days were over.
Many have tried to make high heels comfortable – many have failed.
But now, a new hack could finally be the answer to happy feet.
This handy trick is specifically for lace-up heels that tie around the leg.
Megan Watkins, head stylist at SilkFred, who shared the how-to with their followers on TikTok, said it’s all about using the laces to give your feet the right support.
She said: ‘Most people make the mistake of tying the lace around their ankle and then up the calf, but this leaves the heel of your foot quite loose which can make it difficult to walk and put more pressure on the balls of your feet.
‘Instead, try crossing the lace over the front of your foot, round the back of your ankle and then the trick is to wrap the lace under the sole of your shoe, right in front of the heel, and then bring it back up to continue to cross over your calf and tie at the back.’
So far, the video has been viewed more than 2.6 million times – and shoe lovers have flocked to the comments to share their love.
‘Smart’ wrote one user, while another said it’s a trick she’d been using for years. She wrote: ‘Doing this since the 90s. Never failed me.’
Finally, you can leave those emergency flipflops at home.
